so depending on how one calculates such things, i am halfway or a little more than halfway through the 1st trimester.
that sounds like a lot until you consider that for the first two weeks of a 40 week pregnancy, you're not actually pregnant at all in the slightest, because of Pregnancy Math. and for about the next two weeks after that, you are technically pregnant, but not in any measurable way.
but now i'm in week 7, which means i've had 3 weeks and change of being For Real pregnant. and how does it feel so far?
well... knock on wood... not too bad at all. morning sickness is supposed to peak within the next two weeks, and then taper off around week 14 or 15, but barring some huge change i don't think i'm actually going to throw up at all. my appetite comes and goes, i'm usually in some form of gastric discomfort, and i have plenty of moments of actual nausea, but it's all quite mild. (please oh please do not let me have to eat those words later.)
the fatigue is killer. seriously. i am usually a night owl but i've been napping like a champ and still crawling into bed before 10. i went to a friend's morning wedding at the beginning of week 6. i had plenty of sleep the night before, but we had to leave kind of early because i was exhausted, and i actually fell asleep on the metro on the way home, at, like, 3 in the afternoon.
i'm also dizzy on and off, greasy faced like a teenager, and a bit weepy and irritable. but the first half of the first trimester has not been the cavalcade of miseries it could have been. hooray! i get an A+ in pregnancy.
