not due to, but pursuant to drunken advice (he just affirmed what i knew in my heart of hearts to be true) from a Real-Estate-Experienced Friend-Of-A-Friend, we are fixin to begin commencing the process of starting to look for possible houses. knowing me, we'll be moving in next week. ha!
ok, so maybe i tend to jump into things. interest rates are creeping up, though, so i might as well jump - what's a few months going to do other than cost us money? we will have to sublease our house if anything happens before, say, december. but hey. that's what craigslist is for, right? right?
of course, it feels awfully silly to be househunting when we just FINALLY got around to putting up pictures last week and my mother has hemmed my curtains - again - to fit these new windows. and i CANNOT BELIEVE i'm considering moving again soon. moving HURTS.
and omfg this whole process is complicated. how does anyone ever get this done?
here's my wishlist so far
- a house/townhouse/condo/rowhouse/reasonably well constructed cardboard box
- with a yard where penny can hang out during the day
- less than, say, an hour commute to our jobs
- not falling down around our ears
- where the sound of bullets does not ring out every night
at the price we're willing to pay, i think this list is a bit far-fetched.... but we're going to look anyway.
but we're going to have to interview and decide on an agent or maybe a buyers broker and negotiate their contract and then we have to make an OFFER and consider COUNTEROFFERS and NEGOTIATE and OH MY GOD DID I MENTION I SUCK AT NEGOTIATING? and then we have to INTERVIEW INSPECTORS AND DECIDE ON ONE and then have it INSPECTED and then CLOSE and OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!!!!!11111one
